Busselton Senior High School provides students and their families with clear information about the education and training pathways that maximise post-school options, and mobility in occupations and industries that are rapidly changing and evolving.
Our career education programs, run through the Humanities and Social Sciences Learning Area, support students to make more informed career and pathway decisions to prepare them for life beyond school, through the early integration of career education into our curriculum. The programs allow students to identify their interests, values, skills and aspirations, while exploring the changing world of work through classroom activities and engagement with employers, industry representatives and education and training providers.
Through strong partnerships with both local industries and Western Australian education and training providers, Busselton Senior High School offers students the opportunity to participate in a range of engaging and valuable activities such as career expos, university campus visits, mentoring programs, industry talks, and Try-A Trade programs.
Busselton Senior High School has an appointed Career and Pathways Co-ordinator, to support the Senior School Co-ordinator and VET Co-ordinator for the school, who is able to provide one-on-one support to students and their families to discuss their career and pathways options. In addition to this, up-to-date career information is communicated to the students and their families via a monthly Careers Newsletter and regular updates on our school website and Facebook page.
Lea-Ellen Goddard, Career and Pathways Co-ordinator, can be contacted on (08) 9751 8942 or via email Lea-Ellen.Mcewan@education.wa.edu.au should you require any further information about our careers programs.
